Airline Price Mistakes: Turn Mistakes Into Cheap Airline Tickets
February 3, 2008 by warren707
If you believe the airlines, the posting of airline tickets is an automated process and the airlines claim to have fixed most the bugs in their ordering system that caused them to lose money on occasion.
The price of airfares are known to change everyday, and one would think this volume would cause a lot of airline price mistakes like the $39 round-trip from Seattle to Lebanon, N.H.
A lot of times $0 airline tickets isn’t necessarily a price mistake — take Europe for example, because airlines like Ryanair and EzJet occasionally announce a ridiculous numbers of “free” tickets, or in the U.S., where Skybus and every few months receive great press on their sub $10 airline ticket prices.
What you should know
Airfare price mistakes do occur more often then you think:
· Real-time airline prices posted by a carrier sometimes have mistakes
· Prices quoted by the airline Web Sites can have errors that force price mistakes
· Global Distribution Systems who provide price information to travel agents and a ton of websites are known to experience an occasional airline price mistake.
Because of the many airline travel flight-pricing quotes there is a much greater chance of landing a price mistake airline ticket.
Airline Price Mistakes Are Not Always Upheld
There is a lot of talk on if suppliers should uphold a mistake or not. I know you can guess which side of the debate the money people are on …
For a lot of people airline travel is exciting and grabbing airfare price mistakes are part of the fun — my conclusion to everyone on a mission to find an airfare price mistake, use the Internet and the many popular travel message boards to help you find them but don’t be shocked if the chances of winning become more and more like the lottery…
