Keeping warm on a cold flight

Friday, January 4th, 2008

This tip is just great and a loved by .

1. After you complete your bottle water, keep the container and check with the flight attendant about filling your bottle with a mixture of tap water and hot water from the coffee maker.

After a couple refills you will get the combination just right, and what do you know: an instant disposable hot-water bottle.

It can be used as lumbar support, a sore-muscle reliever, or, if you think like me, as a wonderful foot friend that will keep you warm the whole flight.

2. Dress in a couple layers of clothing, preferably made from wool, cotton or synthetic fleece. As you move to the cabin, remove one layer at a time.

This will keep you from sweating, and if you need more warmth, you’ll have a layer to put back on.

bahamas-vacation-hotel.jpgJust a few tips to make sure your bookings doesn’t go wrong:

Speak with a human being. Sometimes airline and travel agents can find routings and fares that aren’t placed into the computer. Often the front-desk clerk at a hotel can tell you about vacancies that aren’t listed online or with the 800 reservations number.

Match up dates against a calendar before you reserve travel.

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

In a time of international travel, suitcases of clothes, toiletries and souvenirs could end up anywhere, perhaps Turkey, Denver or even Addis Ababa.

But even though most is successfully returned to its owner, the remainder, more often than not, finds its way to a far more improbable location — a small town in Alabama.

Air Travel for Next to Nothing

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

When a company needs to have an important document or package hand delivered, it might hire a courier to handle it.

As a courier, you give up a portion of your check-on luggage allowance, which the company uses for its cargo. When you arrive, you deliver the package to the shipping agent’s representative and your job is done.

Hidden travel fees most people overlook

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

If you plan on traveling it is always important to ask about possible fees in advance. Asking can save you from the headache of paying extra for unnecessary service as well as help you plan and prepare for your trip.

Below are a few you need to look out for while traveling.

Fill the Tank
Upon returning a rented vehicle make sure to refill the gas tank since companies can charge up to double the local price per used gallon of gasoline. Make sure that the tank is full before you leave and ask a rental attendant to fill it up if necessary.

Small crowds, awesome skiing

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Who cares if a ski resort looks impressive and glamorous, I can care less if I’m trapped in lift lines all day.

Finding a nice mountain that’s uncrowded isn’t impossible — it just takes a little research.

Try Grand Targhee, Wyo. This hidden gem resort on the western flanks of the Teton Mountain range lies due west of its more famous neighbor, Jackson Hole, which hugs the eastern side of these same mountains.
